Summary
Ramtin Sabeti is a fourth-year doctoral researcher in Civil Engineering at Brunel University London. He is broadly interested in studying the submarine and subaerial landslide generated waves. His current research focuses on physical modelling and numerical simulation of landslide generated waves. His contention is that this research can help engineers and scientists by providing a preliminary and rapid estimate of the potential hazards associated with submarine/subaerial landslides.
Ramtin holds a Master of Science with distinction in Water Engineering from Brunel University London and a MSc in Water Resources Management from Azad University Central Tehran (with distinction), where he also received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering-water. After his graduation, Ramtin worked for various companies in Tehran and Dubai as a design engineer. Recently he has joined a research project which investigates ‘Building earthquake and tsunami resilience in East Indonesia’. His writing has appeared in Natural Hazard Journal, Landslide’s Journal, Journal of Waterway Port Coastal (American Society of Civil Engineering), and Ocean Engineering Journal among various other publications.
