Dr Shervan Babamohammadi
Research Fellow

Summary

I am a postdoctoral research fellow with the Chemical Engineering Department, working in Dr Salman Masoudi Soltani’s research group. I joined Brunel University in January 2022 after graduating with a PhD from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in October 2021. Here, my research is focused on modelling and optimisation of combined CO2 capture and hydrogen production processes. I also assist with day-today operation of our research team, and serve as an assistant PhD supervisor in Dr Masoudi Soltani’s research group. I have over 10 years of prior research experience on CO2 capture and utilisation, renewable energies, environmental sustainability, biofuels, process integration, separation technologies, absorption, and novel solvents aimed at energy optimisation. During my PhD studies, I designed, built and commissioned a lab-scale setup to test a range of new solvents for gas absorption, with a focus on mass transfer behaviour of the system. My research interests comprise CO2 capture, transport phenomena, bio-energy and the environmental engineering.
