Mr Umberto Famulari

Summary

My research interest primarily examines the interaction among multimedia journalism, digital storytelling, visual and political communication. A first stream of my scholarship focuses on the representation of immigration and ethnic groups in news media, the formation of stereotypes, the consequent impact on the audience and the support for public policies.

A second line of my research looks specifically at multi-platform storytelling, social media and politics. I am particularly interested in understanding how the interplay of visuals and text in media affects people’s attitudes, political support and online engagement.
