Ethnic Entrepreneurship

An Interdisciplinary Forum

Cluster Leader: Dr Bidit Dey

The broader aim of the cluster is to assess and analyse the characteristics and challenges of ethnic entrepreneurial initiatives and how that impacts on UK’s socio-economic texture. As such, the cluster seeks to explore a wide range of issues including the historic evolution of ethnic entrepreneurship in the UK, the drivers that facilitate/inhibit ethnic entrepreneurial ventures, its current obstacles and potential difficulties/opportunities in the post-Brexit UK. Furthermore, the cluster will also look into the impact of ethnic entrepreneurship on the social mobility of the ethnic communities and how that (or a lack of it) implicates on building an inclusive and integrated society. The cluster seeks to bring together researchers and practitioners in relevant field with a view to supporting practice based research in this area.
