The growth and rupture rate of small abdominal aortic aneurysms- implication for screening

Project description

This study develops further the economic evidence-base that has supported the introduction of a national screening programme for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) using ultrasound for men aged 65. This project, working with colleagues at the MRC Biostatistics Unit in Cambridge, uses a new individual patient data meta-analysis of aneurysm growth and rupture rates to examine whether a different pattern of aneurysm recall frequencies would be more cost-effective than that currently adopted.
