As the programme is delivered off-campus at NSIRC (located at the TWI Ltd Granta Park site near Cambridge), all staff, students and external contributors to the programme will comply with current Brunel University London and TWI operating practices, and in accordance with Government advice.
The student experience and opportunities from the industry-based course delivery remains a key aspect of the NSRIC programmes.
The intention is that these specialist programmes will be delivered physically, face-to-face, at NSIRC, with appropriate safe working practices in place, using the dedicated lecture rooms and experimental laboratory. In case social distancing restrictions or lockdown prevent effective in-person delivery to the whole cohort, online delivery will be used. Online delivery will consist of live-streamed lectures or pre-recorded sessions along with live discussion with teaching staff. The number of teaching hours remain the same.
The balance between direct contact hours and self-learning will remain unchanged.
All essential core texts are available as e-books through the Brunel University London Library.
Laboratory Support: For modules with practical learning content, the intention is to deliver these physically in the NSIRC laboratories. If this is not feasible students will be able to download pre-recorded demonstrations of those practical elements as well as access all other necessary supporting resources online.
Assessment: There are no changes to the number of assessments. If in person assessments at NSIRC are not feasible then exams will be administered as remote digital exams.
Students will have remote access to the required specialist software.
