Research programme

The Health Economics Research Group (HERG) has an international reputation in health economics, built on a foundation of methodological and applied research pursued over more than 25 years.

HERG's strategic focus is on the economic evaluation of a broad range of clinical and health interventions and the evaluation of research impact. Its dual aim in both areas is to provide applied, policy-relevant research whilst developing and refining methods to increase the rigour and relevance of such studies.

This strategy is highly relevant as such evaluation plays an increasingly influential role in international and national policies on the adoption and use of healthcare interventions and also on strategies for research funding.
