Sports Scholarships
Brunel University has a history of supporting talented sportsmen and sportswomen that dates back to the 1960s. The Sports Scholarship Programme is more than just financial assistance; it is designed to the particular needs of athletes with outstanding sporting ability in higher education.
What we offer?
The Sport Scholarship Programme for 2012/13 offers a comprehensive award package that can focus on a wider range of talented students at Brunel University. The programme is designed to benefit those students from a World Class performance level competing at an international level through to English Schools Champions.
We offer the following Sport Scholarships:
Podium Sport Scholarship Award
· Students participating at major International competitions at a Senior level.
Potential Sport Scholarship Award
· Students participating at Junior International competitions or equivalent.
Sports Bursary Award
· Students participating at a National level/National ranking competition.
Priority Sports:
Students that compete in one of the Universities priority Sports, see list below, will be given priority for funding, however all other sports will be considered.
For 2011/12 additional support and funding exists for a Rugby Union Performance Programme Bursary. This award will be subject to the same criteria and funding restrictions as any Sports Scholarships award.
Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Canoeing, Cricket, Cycling, Equestrian, Football, Golf, Hockey, Judo, Netball, Rowing, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Sailing, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tae Kwon Do, Tennis and Triathlon and Wrestling

Who can apply for a Brunel University Sport Scholarship?
Anyone can apply for an award as long as they have met the academic requirements for a course and subsequently been given a conditional or unconditional place at Brunel University for the academic year 2012/13.
As main criteria, all applicants must be able to demonstrate sporting achievement at Junior International level or equivalent in one of the Priority Sports listed above. Please note that competition for scholarships can be very high and you must be able to show evidence of your sporting achievements and supporting information from your National Governing Body Performance Director/National Coach.
