What are you passionate about and why?

I am a people person and passionate about building strong relationships using my communication and people skills.

What does a typical day at work involve for you?

I work with Menzies Aviation at Heathrow Airport, handling six airlines including Air Canada, Egypt Air, Logan Air, Widerøe, Air Portugal and Sky Express in the capacity of a Passenger Service Agent. I perform landside duties including checking passenger’s travel documentation together with relevant identification to ensure compliance with governing bodies, issue boarding passes and bag tags, and follow procedures for passengers with regards to the acceptance of dangerous goods. Attention to detail, passenger profiling and security is paramount in my routine work tasks.

As a Student Recruitment Ambassador, Widening Access Ambassador and Unibuddy Ambassador during my time with Brunel, I have obtained invaluable experience representing the University in several significant events including open days, conducting campus tours, visiting local schools and colleges, and meeting and greeting people of different culture and backgrounds.

What are your plans for the next two years?

I aim to secure a mid-senior managerial position with a global renowned organisation primarily in the aviation, defence and security sectors. My studies have imparted a groundwork of knowledge and analytical and collaboration skills that are crucial for my career growth. My goal is to continue working hard and do my best to deliver more conscientious and valuable work for the benefit of the organisation that I work for, as well as to provide an outstanding service.

Why do you enjoy volunteering for Brunel?

Volunteering enhances employability skills, provides an opportunity to meet new people and builds confidence - it also gives a sense of purpose and boosts your self-esteem.

How would you say your Brunel experience has helped you to get where you are today?

Brunel has helped me navigate all types of resources and information that will help me in learning and growing outside of the classroom. Through student activities or volunteering opportunities, it has opened a golden gate to the real world where I can put my education ideals and passion to the test.

The experience at the Brunel Business School has helped me reshape and rebrand myself. My personality changed and I feel immensely privileged to be a part of the Brunel fraternity.

Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?

Brunel is one of the leading educational institutions in the UK and has an excellent faculty, flexible course structure, world class amenities and most importantly, a friendly atmosphere for international students. The degree acquired from Brunel is recognised across the globe. I strongly recommend prospective and existing students to read my blog which provides an in-depth explanation as to why I chose to study the MBA programme in particular.

What is your best memory of studying here?

I enjoyed the opportunity to actively participate in extra-curricular activities and also the recognition I received through the Brunel Plus Award, achieving my Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.

If you could give one piece of advice to current Brunel students, what would that be?

The one piece of advice to current Brunel students is to maintain the perfect balance of academic and social activities and enjoy them to the fullest! Always keep your motivation high, even if you receive rejections when applying for employment and unexpected academic outcomes.
