Studying Journalism at Brunel paves the way for a great job

I enjoyed my three years at Brunel immensely - and would return for another helping in a heartbeat, had the staff and course not helped me walk into such a staggeringly good job

I chose to study Journalism at Brunel because of the reputation of the course. The University’s close proximity to London and friendly campus set-up were a brilliant bonus.

In a time when anyone clever enough to work out how to create a free WordPress account can become a ’citizen journalist’, more emphasis is placed on skills like shorthand and a solid legal understanding. I got both at Brunel.

This all contributed to me being accepted for a two-week work placement at T3 magazine after only five months of study at Brunel! It was without a doubt one of my proudest moments - and being asked to write an article for a publication I had read religiously throughout my teens was surreal.

Outside of lectures, Brunel has an array of clubs, societies and sports teams clustered into its West London campus. It also has a monthly newspaper run by students, which offers a great chance for people from very different courses to collaborate and work together.
