Industrial Review Evenings for Brunel Design student final year projects

2018 Industry Review evening NEW 1

Students have recently started their ‘Major Projects’ – a 400+ hour culmination of their 4 years at Brunel which typically includes a year working in industry. Many of the projects are based on briefs and collaborations with industry – further enhancing Brunel’s strong reputation for producing highly employable, industry ready graduates.
Our Product Design students will be exhibiting early concepts from their final year projects during our Industrial Review Evenings. They will be joined by their Brunel academic lead tutors and invited groups of design experts to give valuable feedback to help steer and enhance their projects. The two evenings will cover different themes:

Tuesday 20th November - Environment & Social Issues

Wednesday 21st November - Health & Wellbeing

We have held these reviews for a number of years and have found that the evenings are incredible valuable to our students in helping them shape and refine their projects at an early stage in the process. Our industry experts also gain value from participating and enjoy the experience of talking to our young designers!

What is involved?

During the review the active participants will be hearing first hand from the students and seeing their initial ideas. Students will display their projects and early concepts using art boards and artefacts in an exhibition style-format.

Our aim is to build up student self-esteem through constructive comments and bring an industrial perspective to the project direction. The event will be informative, fun and will ultimately help to drive forward the innovative and entrepreneurial culture of our students.

In the past participants have included representatives from major Brands such as: Procter & Gamble, Dyson, Mars, Joseph Joseph and Design Consultancies including: Saatchi & Saatchi, Seymour Powell, Therefore and PDD. Many of our experts are Brunel Design alumni who come back year on year to help current students and pass on their experiences from the industry.

This is an invitation only event but if you are interested in joining us for an evening of networking and viewing of interesting projects from our first class design students or want more information, please contact co-Innovate@brunel.ac.uk
