Dr Derek Groen and Diana Suleimenov from the Department of Computer Science are co-organising Science Hakathon 2017 in collaboration with CERN, Geneva. The prestigious event will take place over the weekend of the 10th-12th February 2017 at IdeaSquare, CERN, Geneva.
Participants of the hakathon will share expertise over a 60 hour period, working within small groups, with the aim of walking away with a draft academic journal paper, funding proposal, or analysis of a scientific dataset. Apart from co-organising the event, Derek and Diana will also be running a science hackathon session as part of the event, on analysing refugee data and model the forced migration movements.
