Education at Brunel is about more than just teaching. We offer the full range of provision, from BA through to PGCE and MA to Ed Doc and PhD, which makes Brunel an exciting place to come and study.

Their knowledge and first-hand experiences will help you develop a deeper understanding of the concepts you’ll tackle in the university classroom and insight into careers and opportunities outside of it. If you are considering a teaching career, you may choose to undertake one of our highly regarded Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) courses. Our Primary and Secondary PGCE courses are judged as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted (2015) and will give you the knowledge, skills and experience to gain employment as a teacher and the opportunity to progress into a leadership and management role in a school or in the wider world of education.

We have a well-established alumni network of graduates who have loved their time at Brunel and want to give back. Many of our graduates come back on campus to give talks and session that will give you an insight into progressing into education related fields once you finish your studies. We also have some of our alumni act as mentors to current students, sharing their experiences and networks with our current generation of students.

As well as our state-of-the-art 24/7 library which boasts its own librarian for Education there will be a range of different types of classrooms that you'll be in. For those of you doing teaching, you will experience a range of classroom settings that closely reflect real world primary and secondary teaching environments. You’re never too far from top institutions and centres for education or networking events on or off our London campus, as you’ll be studying in the cultural capital of the UK. Being within easy reach of Central London, as well as the Home Counties, is a big plus for you especially when securing placements. Trips to places like The Museum of Childhood, the Wellcome Trust and the Tate, take your learning outside the classroom into other settings and go a long way towards building your knowledge of both formal and informal education.
