Brunel University of London (Brunel Law School) is delighted to support the development of legal scholarship in Uzbekistan through the donation of more than 100 specialist books to Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL). This initiative reflects our commitment to enriching global legal education and expanding access to high-quality academic resources.
The collection includes foundational and contemporary works by leading British scholars and practitioners across key areas of legal science, including:
- Public and private international law
- International humanitarian law
- European Union law and jurisprudence
- Human rights law
- Digital regulation and cyber law
- Commercial law and legal philosophy
These materials will support TSUL students, researchers, and faculty in conducting comparative research, preparing dissertations and academic publications, and engaging with the latest developments in international and European legal practice.
We are grateful for the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the United Kingdom, whose coordination and diplomatic assistance ensured the smooth preparation and delivery of the collection to Tashkent. Their involvement underscores the value of academic cooperation as part of wider UK–Uzbekistan relations.
This donation builds on the partnership established between Brunel University of London and TSUL and represents a strategic contribution to strengthening legal education infrastructure in Uzbekistan. It also reflects a shared belief in the importance of knowledge exchange - a tradition that has historically connected the UK with the great intellectual centres of Central Asia.
Prof. Jurgita Malinauskaite (Head of Brunel Law School), whose logistical support facilitated the smooth transfer of the books to TSUL, noted that "all of us at Brunel University of London are proud to support TSUL’s academic community and to contribute to the development of future legal leaders in Uzbekistan."
Shokhrukhbek Tillaboev (Deputy Head of the Department of English Law and EU Law at TSUL) and Asilbek Muminov (Lecturer at Tashkent State University of Law) shared a gracious letter reaffirming the importance of the cooperation between Brunel University of London and TSUL and explaining the substantial benefits the book donation brings to their institution and the wider academic landscape in Central Asia.
