New BARBRI scholarships

barbi law 2022

Brunel University London is the first University Law School in the UK to offer the prestigious BARBRI scholarships. Two of our Law Students Meryemcan Meydan and Andrew Wild have been accepted on the programme and have started their scholarships.

BARBRI are the worldwide leading Legal Education Provider who offer social mobility funds to help increase diversity, inclusion and accessibility within the legal sector. To achieve this, BARBRI works with law firms, charities and leading universities and to-date has allocated over £120,000.

Arad Reisberg, Head of Brunel of Law School explains “ We are the first in the UK to offer BARBRI scholarships. With more than 80% of our undergraduates from underrepresented communities. We have a passionate commitment and a strong track record in supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring that they get the best chance in accessing graduate jobs and this initiative will offer our students the opportunity to maximise their potential”.

Chris Jorgenson Director of Institutional Partnerships at BARBRI notes, “BARBRI is thrilled to partner with Brunel in offering merit-based tuition scholarships for our SQE1 preparation courses. Brunel shares BARBRI’s vision of advancing widening participation in the practice of law and aligns with BARBRI’s values centred around helping to level the playing field for young lawyers.

We continue to see high-calibre law students graduate from Brunel and are very happy to be a part of their career progression via the SQE scholarship scheme as well as other SQE discounts available to Brunel students and alumnus”.
