New Interdisciplinary Research on Ageing

This seminar will show case the range of interdisciplinary research on ageing being undertaken by staff at Brunel University London.

Projects being presented include understanding the effects of heat stress, physical activity and falls, older people as consumers and the role of the digital everyday life and address the key theme of Older Person’s Day 2022, the reliance of older women (and men).

At this seminar we will be launching our latest ESRC funded project, ‘Socially inclusive ageing across the life course’.

This project is led by Professor Christina in collaboration with Professors Justin Fisher and Keming Yu, Dr Michael Thomas (Brunel University London) and Dr Kimberley Smith (Surrey University).

The project is focusing upon social health, not being lonely or isolated, in three groups of under-researched older people: those ageing with disabilities and those from ethnic minority and LGBTQ+ communities.
