Antimicrobial resistance is one of the most pressing global health challenges, and computational approaches are playing an increasingly important role in understanding resistance and accelerating the discovery of new interventions. Join us at Brunel University of London on Wednesday 4 November 2026 for a one-day symposium showcasing advances in computational approaches to antimicrobial resistance. The event will bring together researchers working across computational biology, molecular modelling, structural biology, artificial intelligence, genomics and antimicrobial research. The programme will feature invited talks highlighting cutting-edge research, alongside opportunities for discussion, networking and the development of new collaborations. Researchers at all career stages from academia, industry and partner organisations are warmly invited to attend.
The symposium is hosted by Brunel’s Antimicrobial Innovations Centre (AMIC) and organised in partnership with CCPBioSim and the Molecular Graphics and Modelling Society (MGMS).
Confirmed speakers so far:
-
Paul Finn, Oxford Drug Design – computational and AI-enabled antimicrobial drug discovery
-
Tania Dottorini, King’s College London – systems biology, pathogen genomics and computational approaches to AMR
-
Marc van der Kamp, University of Bristol – molecular dynamics, enzyme modelling and antimicrobial targets
-
Shozeb Haider, University College London – molecular dynamics of membrane proteins, protein structure and AMR
-
Angelo Frei, University of York – antimicrobial medicinal chemistry and metal-based antimicrobials
