Brunel University of London has been ranked joint 2nd in the UK and joint 7th globally for international outlook in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027.
This places Brunel among the world’s most internationally focused universities and recognises the strength and diversity of its global community, as well as its international research collaborations.
Brunel achieved an International Outlook score of 97.5 in the 2027 rankings. The measure considers the international character of universities through indicators including the proportion of international students and staff, and the extent of international research collaboration.
Brunel’s international outlook reflects the diversity of its community, with students and staff from around the world studying, working and researching together at the University.
The University also has a wide network of international partners and research collaborations, supporting opportunities for students and academics to work across borders and help address global challenges.
The THE World University Rankings are the only global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The 2027 rankings use 17 performance indicators to assess university performance across these areas, providing comprehensive and balanced comparisons that are trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments.
In the overall THE World University Rankings 2027, Brunel is ranked joint 41st in the UK and in the 401–450 band globally.
The latest rankings reinforce Brunel’s position as a globally connected university and builds on its continued strong performance for international outlook in the THE rankings.
