Brunel subjects recognised among UK's best in The Guardian University Guide 2027

Brunel University of London has achieved strong subject-level results in The Guardian University Guide 2027, with seven subjects across engineering, design, health and education ranked among the UK’s top 30.

Games Design (13th) and Civil Engineering (14th) both ranked in the top 15 nationally. Chemical Engineering also featured in the UK's top 20 at 17th, while Health Professions (22nd), Product Design (22nd), Education (23rd) and Biomedical Sciences (30th) all achieved top 30 rankings.

Alongside its subject-level successes, Brunel climbed 18 places in the overall Guardian University Guide rankings and was ranked ninth in the UK for student-to-staff ratio, reflecting the University's focus on delivering a supportive and engaging student experience.

The results reflect Brunel's focus on combining academic excellence with practical, career-focused learning. The University’s courses are closely connected to industry, provide access to industry-standard facilities, and give students opportunities to develop real-world skills through placements, projects and professional partnerships.

The Guardian University Guide 2027 ranks UK universities using a range of measures, including student satisfaction, investment in students and student-to-staff ratios.
