Brunel University London is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Her Majesty The Queen, and we extend our condolences to the Royal Family.

May she rest in peace.

Tribute from our Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Andrew Jones

“Her Majesty dedicated her life to her country and its people. Over the course of her 70-year-long reign, she was a great public servant, a figurehead for the nation, and a champion of enterprise and education, granting our own University Charter in 1966.

“Many in our community will have their own memories of The Queen, who made a Royal visit to our campus in 2006, officially naming our Mary Seacole Building and meeting staff and students. I’m told that then, as always, her warmth and humanity shone through.

“Her passing is a great loss to our community, and the whole country has good reason to be grateful for her years of service and leadership.”
