University of London to launch new BSc Artificial Intelligence with Brunel, University of London

The University of London and Brunel University of London will be launching a new BSc Artificial Intelligence in 2026, marking the first academic collaboration since Brunel joined the University of London Federation in October 2024.

The University of London is launching a new BSc Artificial Intelligence with academic direction from Brunel University of London, the first programme delivered in collaboration with Brunel since it formally joined the University of London Federation in October 2024.

The programme is designed to address the growing demand for AI expertise across the workforce, including in sectors like healthcare, finance, education and technology.

The programme draws on expertise from Brunel's Department of Computer Science and Department of Mathematics, building on Brunel's position in the top 250 institutions globally for Computer Science. The curriculum will cover computing principles, mathematics and programming, before progressing to specialist study in machine learning, intelligent systems and data science. Students will also engage with ethical frameworks for AI development, including considerations of fairness, transparency and societal impact.

This collaboration draws on Brunel's established expertise in computing and STEM education alongside our extensive experience in delivering flexible, accessible programmes globally.

“Graduates will develop technical capabilities in artificial intelligence while engaging with the professional and ethical dimensions necessary for responsible practice. Students will be able to study through our network of Recognised Teaching Centres worldwide, which will help to extend access to specialist AI education for learners who can benefit most from this programme.”

Delivered through the University of London’s worldwide network of Recognised Teaching Centres, the programme provides students with local in-person teaching, campus facilities and academic support whilst earning a University of London degree.

The flexible structure will allow full-time completion over three years or part-time study, with students progressing through twelve modules covering foundations, specialist AI topics and project work designed to develop professional skills and real-world application experience. Applications are due to open in summer 2026, with the first cohort of students starting their studies from September 2026.
