Brunel Graduate Entrepreneur Makes Forbes Spotlight with Innovative Scent Technology

Anastasia Georgievskaya, a 2020 Brunel University London graduate in Biological Sciences, and her co-founder Ivan Novikov have been featured in Forbes for their pioneering work in immersive scent technology through their company, Scentient.

Scentient is developing technologies that bring the sense of smell into the digital world. Their wearable scent interface, launching at United XR Europe in Brussels from December 8–10, uses magnetically attached pods to release precise, controlled bursts of scent synchronised with events in virtual and augmented reality experiences.

Anastasia shares “Smells make experiences more memorable”, emphasising that scent is closely linked to memory and emotion, making it essential for realistic simulations.

Scentient’s cutting-edge technology works across a wide range of immersive setups, enhancing experiences for firefighters, wellness creators, and fragrance brands. The company operates with a small internal team supported by external agencies and benefits from grant funding.
