Brunel Graduate Startup Lylo Recognised in 2026 Startups 100 Index

Brunel University of London is proud to celebrate the success of Lylo, a startup founded by Brunel graduates Joanna Power and Paramveer Bhachu, both graduates of the Product Design Engineering (BSc), class of 2021. Lylo has been named in the 2026 Startups 100 Index by Startups.co.uk, powered by Sage, a prestigious annual list recognising the UK’s most innovative and high-potential new businesses.

Now in its 18th year, the Startups 100 is the definitive index of the most promising new UK businesses. Each year, the Startups.co.uk team of business experts assesses hundreds of emerging ventures, working in collaboration with specialist industry consultants to identify the top 100, with companies selected based on a combination of growth, innovation and potential.

Eco start-up Lylo, created during Joanna and Paramveer’s time studying at Brunel, is on a mission to help build a more sustainable future by tackling one of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. The innovative venture addresses two major global issues - reducing water consumption and improving energy efficiency. At the heart of Lylo is its flagship circular economy product, a household aerating washing machine that reuses waste shower water. Designed for modern living, Lylo aims to develop a commercially scalable solution that supports sustainable, affordable small-space living without compromising performance or accessibility.

Lylo shared “Kicking off 2026 with a bang! We’re proud to share that Lylo has been named in the 2026 Startups 100 Index, celebrating the UK’s most ground-breaking new businesses. While we’ve been a little quieter publicly, behind the scenes we’ve been focused on what matters most: developing, testing and validating Lylo as a real, scalable product. Being included in the Startups 100 is a welcome moment of reflection. As we move through 2026, we’ll be sharing more of what we’re building, what we’re learning, and what’s next as we prepare for the next phase of growth. Thanks to Startups.co.uk for the recognition, and to everyone who’s supported Lylo so far.”
