Brunel Graduate Wins AXA Startup Angel 2025 with Groundbreaking Concussion Tech!

Congratulations to Brunel graduate entrepreneur Simone Panella, who has been crowned one of the winners of the AXA Startup Angel 2025 competition.

Simone secured £25,000 in funding, a year of business insurance from AXA and invaluable mentoring from expert Startup Angels to support the launch and growth of his innovative business.

Founder of Dyamotech, the world’s first wearable concussion management system. Developed during his time studying at Brunel University London, Dyamotech is a smart headband designed to monitor head impact exposure in youth sports. It tracks g-force and rotational data, providing instant feedback via a connected app and is aimed at schools and sports clubs to help safeguard children.

Now in its fourth year, the AXA Startup Angel competition, run in partnership with The Standard, gives aspiring entrepreneurs across the UK a chance to turn their business ideas into reality, with prizes and mentoring awarded annually to 6 standout ventures.

Simone shared: “This will give us the confidence and credibility to build the global standard for youth sports brain safety.”

A huge congratulations to Simone on this well-deserved win from all of us at the Entrepreneur Hub. We’re so proud to support the next generation of changemakers coming out of Brunel!
