More Connection Co., founded by Brunel University MSc Psychology graduate Sean Hayes, has been named Startup of the Year at the 2025 Plus X Innovation Changemaker Awards, celebrating the UK’s most inspiring innovators driving positive change in their communities.
The awards ceremony, which shines a spotlight on local changemakers and innovators, featured 7 categories including Startup of the Year. More Connection Co. stood out for its pioneering approach to enhancing human connection in the digital age.
Sean Hayes, who graduated from Brunel University in 2023, launched More Connection Co. to address a growing challenge in online interactions - the lack of meaningful connection during video calls. Their first product, the MoreConnectCam, is an innovative eye-contact webcam that allows users to simultaneously look at the person on screen and into the camera lens. By pairing two MoreConnectCam devices, users can make video call eye contact, replicating the feeling of face-to-face interaction.

This win follows an inspiring year for Sean where he reached another milestone with his Kickstarter campaign, raising a total of £9,517 with 199 backers.
