Research area(s)
My areas of research include the occurrence and fate of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) within wastewater systems, technology assessment from a sustainability lens, and strategies for addressing PFAS pollution that go beyond typical end-of-pipe solutions. Moreover, I am interested in the barriers to technology implementation, the trade-offs inherent in emerging contaminant management, and the translation of research into applicable knowledge that informs future solutions.
Research Interests
- PFAS occurrence and fate in the urban water cycle
- Novel wastewater treatment technologies
- Upstream intervention strategies, moving beyond end-of-pipe treatment
- Sustainable engineering
- Circular economy
- Water management policy and governance
