Boteng is a PhD researcher at Brunel University. His research focuses on how immersive design tools can enhance the sense of participation among socially marginalised groups in urban communities. He is dedicated to exploring how immersive technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality can lower barriers to participation in community design and governance, while strengthening residents’ rights to expression, sense of belonging, and capacity for collaboration.
