Research area(s)
My research focuses on Sudanese women displaced by the current war, examining how conflict-related displacement impacts their education, mental health, and resettlement experiences. I explore the challenges they face in adapting to new environments, accessing education, and coping with trauma, aiming to support policies and practices that promote their well-being and successful integration.
Research Interests
My research interests include the education and mental health of children and women, with a particular focus on displacement, educational equality, and social justice. I explore the intersection of displacement and mental health, the barriers to educational opportunities, and the factors that influence adjustment, resilience, and empowerment in resettlement contexts. I am passionate about women’s empowerment, early years education, and fostering equity within education systems. Additionally, I examine the long-term impacts of trauma on learning and well-being, strategies for rebuilding education in post-conflict settings, and how inclusive policies and community support can improve educational access and mental health outcomes for marginalized populations. Through my research, I aim to contribute to sustainable, culturally responsive educational practices that promote healing, social integration, and empowerment for displaced women and children.
