Summary

Jake Gifford joined Brunel in October 2019 as a Doctoral Researcher in the College of Health and Life Sciences, after previously completing his MSc at Brunel. Jake is currently supervised by Professor Louise Mansfield and Dr. Adrienne Milner and his research seeks to understand the physical activity experiences of people categorised as "overweight" or "obese" using a life history approach. He is also an experienced personal trainer working with a diverse set of individuals with a broad range of abilities. His research interests include critical weight studies, intersectionality and the social determinants of health and how they impact physical activity.
