Summary

I am currently a Doctoral Researcher in the Environmental Sciences department. Since starting my PhD in October 2024, I have been researching the greater wax moth (Galleria mellonella), its capability to degrade plastics, and how this consumption affects their physiology and metabolome. Prior to this, I received an integrated masters in Biological Sciences from Durham University (2019-2023), with my thesis researching recombinant production of bio-pesticides and their effects on cabbage moths (Mamestra brassicae) and green pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum). I also spent a year as a research assistant at an entomology lab in London (2023-2024), researching insect repellents, insecticides and traps against mosquitos, midges, house flys, ticks and bed bugs.
