Summary

Meijun Chen is currently pursuing a PhD under the supervision of Dr. Solon Solomon, with the provisional title 'Environmental Law under Extreme Conditions: Discussing the Introduction of a Funding Mechanism for Addressing Environmental Harm under International Law.' She joined BUL after completing her LLM at the University of Bristol and her LLB at Tianjin University of Science and Technology. Her LLM research focused on the challenges of applying international humanitarian law (IHL) in urban warfare contexts.

Meijun passed the Chinese National Bar Examination in 2018 and obtained her Chinese Lawyer's License in 2021. She has accumulated two years of legal work experience in China, specialising in real estate law, Anti-unfair competition Law, and Anti-Monopoly Law. During this period, she provided legal services to several major corporations, including Tencent, Apple, Alibaba, and GSK.

She has also developed extensive international professional experience. From 2023 to 2024, she worked as a Corporate Tax Assistant at RSM in Bristol office, where she provided professional services to prominent clients such as Harrods, Amazon, and ABUS (UK) Ltd. In 2024, she was seconded as in-house legal counsel by a leading Chinese e-cigarette company to the United States (Tennessee and Kentucky), supporting its international expansion. In 2025, she was further seconded by an overseas real estate company to Athens, Greece, where she provided legal services to Chinese clients involved in overseas property investment and immigration.
