Summary
- Paula is a Senior Lecturer (Professional Practice) in Physiotherapy. She is Module Leader for Working as an Advanced Perinatal Practitioner (PH5690) within the postgraduate Advanced Clinical Practice programme and Enhanced Practice in Pelvic Health (PH56100) within the postgraduate Enhanced Clinical Practice programme.
- Prior to moving fully to Academia, Paula held a range of specialist clinical positions within the NHS, including Clinical Lead for the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Service and the subsequently Clinical Lead for the Southeast London Perinatal Pelvic Health Service (PPHS) at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and the Southeast London Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS). These roles provided extensive experience in the assessment and management of pelvic floor dysfunction and in leading integrated multidisciplinary services.
- Paula currently holds and Honorary Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy position at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, maintaining strong links between clinical practice, education, and research.
- She is also the Chair of the Physiotherapy Committee of the International Continence Society, contributing to the advancement of pelvic health physiotherapy at international level.
- Her professional interests include perinatal health, advanced clinical practice , healthcare and workforce development, interprofessional education, collaborative team-centered learning, and the promotion of evidence-based pelvic health physiotherapy.
