Summary

Dr. Srivatsan Lakshminarayan joined the Department of Economics and Finance in 2020. He has previously worked in the accounting profession, the financial services industry and the higher education sector in UK, India and (as visiting faculty) in Singapore. His work experience includes stints with member firms of the 'Big Four' accounting firms in India, a US head-quartered global bank, the School of Finance and Management at SOAS University of London and SPJIMR Business School (India). His industry experience includes positions of executive responsibility within retail and investment banking in a range of functions covering financial planning & control, risk management, and internal audit. Accounting profession experience includes a range of responsibilities in US and Indian GAAP assurance and compliance.

Srivatsan has extensive experience of teaching Introductory Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Management Accounting, Corporate Finance and Financial Statement Analysis in the BSc, MSc and MBA programs. He has taught at UG and PG levels across both environments - the standalone business school and the university affiliated school of finance/management. He was previously associated as a volunteer with the Global Professional Conduct Program of the CFA Institute. He currently serves as a volunteer on the Practice Analysis Working Body supporting the Education Advisory Committee of the CFA Institute and has participated in the practice analysis process through surveys of current practice, reviewing proposed revisions to the Global Body of Investment Knowledge (GBIK®) and Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK®) related to the CFA program. His particular interest is in the domain of Financial Reporting and Analysis. He also serves as a Visiting Examiner on several accounting modules at UG and PG levels, with the School of Finance and Management, SOAS University of London.
