3.1 Students awarded this fee reduction will have their overseas fee reduced to match the Home fee for the course, the fee reduction will apply for each year of study.
3.2 The reduction is applied only to the tuition fees and not to any other type of additional fee that may be incurred, such as resubmission, repeat modules or re-sit fees.
3.3 The fee waiver will be applied once for each eligible level of study, subject to normal progression criteria having been met.
Allocation
4.1 Eligibility criteria are reviewed annually.
4.2 Fee reductions are awarded to those who meet the eligibility criteria at the time of allocation. All decisions are final. Any appeals in respect of the decisions made by the Panel should be referred to the admissions policy. An appeal will only be considered in line with procedural irregularities, where an applicant believes that the University has not followed the procedures stated within the relevant Terms and Conditions and there is reasonable doubt as to whether the outcome might have been different had the error not occurred. Any appeals relating to the fee reduction outcome must be lodged at the start of the student’s first academic year at the University. Brunel will not be able to consider later appeals.
4.3 The award does not replace the deposit of £5,000. All applicants will need to pay the £5,000 deposit for their course in order to formally receive the award.
4.4 The fee reduction will only be applied providing the student is fully enrolled at the University which includes having their qualifications and other documentation verified and checked and completing the University enrolment procedures. This includes holding the correct visa to study.
4.5 The Scholarship Team will liaise with all relevant departments. The Discount will automatically be added to the student registration record in time for registration. If a student registers earlier in the year, the University records will still show the full overseas fee rate.
4.6 If an applicant is eligible for more than one scholarship/bursary/discount/fee reduction, they will be awarded the one which is the most financially beneficial across the course duration, exceptions may apply, please review individual scholarship terms and conditions for further information.
4.7 The fee reduction cannot be combined with any other University scholarship, bursary, discount or award, with the exception of the 2% early payment discount, or unless specifically stated in the individual scholarship terms and conditions.
Withdrawal of the discount
5.1 Misleading information: The University reserves the right to withdraw a fee waiver from anyone who is found to have misled the University about any aspect of their eligibility and to seek payment of discounted fees already paid by appropriate means.
5.2 Fee waivers applied at the start of an academic year will not be amended once the fee has been processed. Any tuition fee liability remaining after fee reductions are applied will therefore be calculated in accordance with the Student Financial Policy.
5.3 Withdrawal from Study: A student who withdraws from their programme prior to completion and who is in receipt of a scholarship award will not normally be requested to repay scholarship payments made up to the point of withdrawal. However, entitlement to all future fee reductions cease immediately when a student withdraws from Brunel University of London.
Any queries relating to these terms and conditions should be addressed to the Scholarship Team.
