The Division of Social Work staff members were delighted to award four of our graduating students with prestigious awards during the Winter Graduation Ceremony on 12 December.

The students (in the photo from right to left) Nicollette Shirley, Joelia Mamagamda and Aisha Blackman each got the Cathy Aymer Prize for Contribution to Anti-Oppressive Practice in Social Work through their three excellent dissertations.

Florence Igbodo received the Mary Seacole Award which is given each year to the student who achieved the highest overall grade. The award certificate and prize were handed to Florence by Ms. Marva Rollins on behalf of the Caribbean Women Standing Conference who has been sponsoring the award for many years. Considering Florence is a full-time mother, this was an especially impressive achievement.
