Finding the right course for you
You can look through our available postgraduate taught courses either by using our course finder or by each subject area.
How to apply
Applications should be made online through the "Apply" button on the right hand side of each individual course page.
Please see below ('When to Apply') for application deadlines.
Except in the case of Brunel University London graduates, applications must be accompanied by documentary proof of the qualifications held (including those showing English language proficiency for those whose first language is not English). Brunel graduates who require a Tier 4 visa will still need to provide their certificates when applying.
PGCE courses
Application forms for PGCE courses are available from the UCAS Teacher Training Registry, Rosehill, New Barn Lane, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL52 3LZ (enclose an A5 stamped addressed envelope). Applications for the MA in Social Work should be made to UCAS.
Entry requirements
Candidates with a first degree from a UK university (or recognised equivalent UK or overseas qualification) may be admitted to a programme of advanced study. Candidates with other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis. An appropriate level of English language competence is also expected.
The qualifications we accept are continuously under review. For this reason, it is not possible to publish a detailed list, but some guidelines are given under each course entry.
Documents needed for application
When you access the system, you’ll be given the opportunity to submit your documents electronically. If you would rather send them by post, you can send your supporting documents to our Admissions Office.
When sending any documentation by post, please clearly reference your application number which is emailed to you when you save or complete the online application.

We can accept a scanned copy of your transcript if applying online, however you must bring the original with you when you register. If your transcript is not in English you will also need to provide a verified English translation.

Personal statement

A brief personal statement in support of your application

Typically this will be a brief explanation of why you want to pursue a degree at Brunel University London. It can be uploaded as an attachment if you already have an electronic copy or it can be typed directly into the online form later in your application.

Certificates

Any relevant certificates

This includes any certificates you consider relevant to your application (not already submitted under transcripts or language qualifications).

Other documents

Any other relevant documentation

This includes any additional information which you consider relevant to your application, for example a Curriculum Vitae if required for your course.

During the next phase of the online application process, you will be able to access the online application form itself. Make sure you have the following information to hand:
- Personal details
- Academic qualifications (level, subject, where studied, results, year taken)
- Work experience details (name of organisations, start and end dates)
If you find that you don’t have the required information at any stage, you can save your progress and exit the online application process and then resume it later.
When to apply
- For courses beginning September 2020, you must apply by 21 August 2020
- For courses beginning January 2021, you must apply by 23 November 2020
Exceptions: Some courses , including MSc Occupational Therapy (Pre-Registration), MSc Physician Associate , MA Social Work and PGCE teaching courses may have earlier application deadlines. We recommend that you apply as soon as possible as popular courses often fill up early.
- It can also take several months to get a Tier 4 student visa if required.
- Physician Associate and PGCE courses will also have early enrolment dates.
You may be invited to attend an interview at the University before a decision on the application is made. For applicants living outside the UK, it may be possible to arrange telephone and web conference interviews.
At the beginning of the first session, every student (full-time, part-time and distance learning) must register for their course and, at the beginning of all subsequent sessions, they must enrol. All students must pay their fees at the beginning of every session.
Applying for Pre-Masters
Brunel Pathway College works in partnership with Brunel University London to provide you with an alternative pathway to study certain postgraduate courses at Brunel. EU and International students who do not meet the entry requirements to study certain courses at Brunel, will be offered the opportunity to study at Brunel Pathway College.
To apply for a course at Brunel Pathway College, complete our online application form. Before you submit your application, please make sure that:
- You know which pathway you want to study, and which date you want to start.
- You have electronic copies of your academic transcripts, which you will need to attach to your online application.
Associate Student Scheme
If you want to test the water of postgraduate study before jumping in, or simply want to follow up an interest without committing yourself to a master's degree, the Associate Student Scheme could be for you. You can choose from over 100 modules on offer each year, and study alongside full- and part-time students. If you decide to register formally for a master's degree or intermediate award at a later date, you can take with you whatever credits you have accumulated.
Transferring
Transferring is where an applicant who is already studying at another University wishes to leave that institution and come to Brunel to join a programme similar to what they are already doing.
