Caroline Cox
Head of UK Recruitment and Widening Access

Since joining Brunel in 2024, I have led the Recruitment and Widening Access teams, working closely with schools, colleges, and prospective students. I've spent the last decade in higher education, having previously managed the college counselling office at an international school in Barcelona. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping young people make informed decisions about their next steps and seeing them grow in confidence over time, from settling into a course they love, to celebrating graduation.

I have over 15 years' experience in higher education, specialising in student recruitment, outreach and widening participation, and joined Brunel in 2018. As UK Recruitment and Widening Access Manager, I manage the University's UK recruitment and widening access activity, working with schools, colleges and wider partners to help students from all backgrounds access higher education and make informed decisions about their future.

Daila Campbell
Recruitment and Access Officer

As a Brunel alumna, having studied here for four years, Brunel University of London holds a special place in my heart, and I now have over five years of experience working in higher education. I work closely with schools and colleges to support their post-16 university recruitment needs through outreach activities, taster days, talks, HE fairs and more, helping schools achieve their engagement goals and supporting students as they explore their next steps.

I have now been working at Brunel University of London for almost 3 years within Student Recruitment. My role involves attending higher education fairs, leading on subject specific taster days and on-campus school visits, delivering presentations to prospective students, and supporting a wide range of student recruitment activities.

Since graduating with a BA in Education from Brunel University of London in 2023, I have been working in the Student Recruitment team. I started in Recruitment Events and have since moved to the Schools and Colleges team, where I represent the university at higher education fairs, deliver talks to prospective students, and host taster days on campus.

Jahnvi Acharya
Recruitment and Access Officer

I have spent over a decade teaching secondary school science, alongside holding pastoral leadership responsibilities as a Head of Year. Having supported students throughout their educational journeys, I have now come full circle, returning to Brunel University where I completed my PGCE, as a Recruitment and Access Officer. My role involves working closely with schools and colleges through HE fairs, webinars, teacher CPD events and subject taster days, helping students make informed decisions about their next steps.

After 8 years teaching and leading English at secondary level, and 4 years in Higher Education, I am excited to be working at Brunel University of London. My role involves working on taster days, teacher events, the schools and colleges newsletter, attending HE fairs and much more.

Widening Access

Contact our widening access team for information about our work with students from under-represented groups in higher education. We particularly work with local schools and colleges in Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow.

After 12 years as a primary school teacher, I joined Brunel University in 2023, bringing my passion for learning into higher education and widening access. My role involves working closely with primary schools in Hillingdon to create engaging opportunities for children, including leading Brunel Book Club, our primary school reading programme. I also deliver other outreach activities including primary school campus visits which help to raise aspirations and enable children to see university as part of their future.

Kate Darvill
Senior Widening Access Officer

Experience at primary, secondary and higher education level for upwards of 16 years via school governance, community school support, HE student professional services and widening participation projects.  Now involved specifically with Brunel's Urban and Bridging Scholars projects but also working with schools to deliver workshops, assist with interviews and careers fairs in order to broaden career aspirations and inform students whatever their circumstances.
