Animation: Creating More Materials Bitmaps and Procedural Maps
- The material Editor can handle two types of maps: Bitmaps and Procedural Maps.
- A Bitmap is a scanned-in image image which consists of a series of pixels. These are stored in a variety of file formats e.g. TIFF, Targa, Gif, JPEG, PNG, RLA and AVI. Bitmaps use 8 bit colour (providing 256 colours), 24 bit colour (providing 16.7 million colours) or (48 bit volour (providing very high fidelity images).
- A Procedural map uses mathematical formulas to create the colours.
