Animation: Creating More Materials Maps
- Maps add realistic details to Materials. Each time you add a new map to a material it builds a new level in its material tree.
- When a mapped material is mapped to an object, it is projected onto the object’s surface. Maps can be repeated across a surface to make a pattern and can also be mirrored.
- Maps can reference external filters or external bitmap images. When maps reference external bitmaps, they may use the complete colour characteristics of the image or they may just use light and darkvalues of those colours.
- Maps can be generated from within a program and these are called procedural maps.
