TEM

ETC is delighted to announce the acquisition of a new JEOL Transmission Electron Microscope.

The recently installed JEOL2100 field emission gun transmission electron microscope (FEG TEM) is a state of the art high resolution microscope capable of imaging objects at the sub-nanometer scale. Equipped with X-ray analysis, electron energy filtering, electron energy loss spectrometry, tomography and cathodoluminescence (all provided by Gatan), this instrument is unique in the UK and only one of two in the world.

The acquisition of this microscope will advance the high quality research performed at Brunel University in the fields of materials science, metallurgy, biological sciences and environmental science.

For the first year Brunel users will be able to use the instrument free of charge for their research.

For general enquiries regarding research and collaboration, please contact Professor Ian W Boyd, Director of ETC, Ian.Boyd@brunel.ac.uk

Also to celebrate the development of its facilities ETC is pleased to announce the ETC Brunel Technology Fellow Program.
