English Language Requirements

Studying at University level in the UK means you need a good understanding of the English Language. If you are applying as an international student then you will need to submit evidence of your English ability, even if English is your native language.
Please note that these are provisional requirements for the 2010/11 academic year and are subject to change.
To find the required level of English for your desired course, please choose the academic school which runs your course from the list below. Qualifications are given for IELTS and TOEFL, two of the most common tests, as well as for our own BrunELT. If you have a different qualification you can find out more about the qualifications we accept here. Please note, IELTS, TOEFL and BrunELT are accepted by Brunel as valid for two years only. Your certificate must be valid on the date of course enrolment. Other tests may also have a limited validity. Please email iplc@brunel.ac.uk with any questions.
