Brunel taught me how to think like both a designer and a problem solver. It helped me see technology as a way to create better experiences for people. That mindset — combining creativity with logic — shaped how I build systems today that are simple, useful, and built around real human needs.

Tell us about your educational and/or career journey since you graduated from Brunel?

Since Brunel, I’ve focused on building simple digital systems that solve real problems. At the London School of Commerce, I transformed how students applied and studied across seven countries. Now at KPMG, I lead AI and tech projects that make legal work faster and smarter. Brunel shaped how I think about design, people, and simplicity — lessons I use every day.

What does a typical day at work involve for you?

My day is a mix of building, leading, and problem-solving. I guide my team, plan new features, and make sure our systems run smoothly. A big part of my day goes into turning ideas into working products — keeping things simple, secure, and useful for the people who rely on them.

What’s been the highlight of your career journey so far?

The biggest highlight has been building the Student Application System at the London School of Commerce. I created it from scratch, and it changed how the university handled admissions — cutting decision time from weeks to just days. Seeing it used across countries was proof that simple ideas can make a global impact.

How would you say your Brunel experience has helped you to get where you are today?

Brunel taught me how to think like both a designer and a problem solver. It helped me see technology as a way to create better experiences for people. That mindset — combining creativity with logic — shaped how I build systems today that are simple, useful, and built around real human needs.

Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?

I chose Brunel for its mix of creativity and technology. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to turn ideas into real solutions.

What is your best memory of studying here?

My best memory is working late in the library with friends — sharing ideas, experimenting, and seeing our projects come alive. It taught me the joy of creative collaboration.

If you could give one piece of advice to current Brunel students, what would that be?

Focus on solving real problems, not just completing projects. Every assignment is a chance to test your ideas in the real world. Learn to balance creativity with clarity, and don’t be afraid to simplify — the best designs often come from removing, not adding. That mindset will stay with you forever.

What would be your top tip or key advice for new graduates as they begin their career journey after leaving Brunel?

Start small but think long term. Your first job doesn’t have to be perfect — it’s a chance to learn how things really work. Focus on building trust, delivering results, and staying curious. The mix of creativity and discipline you learned at Brunel will guide you through every challenge ahead.
