Tell us about your educational and/or career journey since you graduated from Brunel?

Upon graduation, I quickly found a job at Marconi Essex / West Midlands until its demise in 2002. After an 18-month employment gap, I now have a career at TfL.

What does a typical day at work involve for you?

Writing data analysis applications for the Data and Analytics team at TfL.

What’s been the highlight of your career journey so far?

Attending Government meetings for TfL.

How would you say your Brunel experience has helped you to get where you are today?

The industrial training placements have been useful to me personally. The degree opened the door to a postgraduate diploma that secured my current position.

Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?

Because of the thin sandwich (work placement) course.

What is your best memory of studying here?

Rowing at Henley.

If you could give one piece of advice to current Brunel students, what would that be?

Study what you enjoy to get the best degree. You will never stop learning what you need to know.

What would be your top tip or key advice for new graduates as they begin their career journey after leaving Brunel?

Dogged determination and look for advice in your elders.
