I chose to study Musculoskeletal Ultrasound at Brunel, as it was local and easily accessible to me - I'd also had colleagues that had studied the course before and given good feedback.

Why did you want to study Musculoskeletal Ultrasound?

Working in the Emergency department, soft tissue injuries are often neglected and can result in significant morbidity and distress for patients later down the line. I wanted to upskill in my knowledge of musculoskeletal sonoanatomy and apply this to my day to day work on the shopfloor.

Why did you choose Brunel to study Musculoskeletal Ultrasound?

This was local and easily accessible. Close colleagues that had studied the course before and given good feedback.

What did you enjoy most about this course?

The clinical days were very well organised and supported by senior faculty. The assessments were rigorous but fair and left you feeling you’ve really learnt a lot through the year.

How has this course help you in your career?

Although my work is very busy I find it has supplemented my ultrasound knowledge base and has been pivotal in making many soft tissue diagnoses in our Urgent treatment centre. We hope to build on this in the near future. Overall a very worthwhile and enjoyable experience.
