Tell us about your educational and/or career journey since you graduated from Brunel?
It's been a bit of a roller coaster since Brunel but I’ve enjoyed it nonetheless. Post uni, I stayed on to start off in London by securing two internships before moving back to Dubai. It was hard back home at first, seeing as the environment here is very competitive with marketing specialists all around the world applying for the same positions. But with a little bit of perseverance and creativity I landed a job and have been there for over 7 years.
What does a typical day at work involve for you?
I'm a Marketing Manager and my typical day involves managing a creative team in churning out creative concepts and campaigns for Dubai's leading brands.
How would you say your Brunel experience has helped you to get where you are today?
University teaches you a lot, not just academically, but also towards your character. I believe it’s the experiences and lessons learnt that have got me to where I am today. Not to mention the friendships and relationships developed that last a lifetime.
If you could give one piece of advice to current Brunel students, what would that be?
Be open to new experiences and people, don't be shy! Get ready to experience LIFE!
What would be your top tip or key advice for new graduates as they begin their career journey after leaving Brunel?
It's a mighty competitive world out there, use any and all resources at your disposal and inject creativity into the process.
