Tell us about your educational and/or career journey since you graduated from Brunel?

I started working for the Greek Ministry for Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping, Special Secretariat for NSRF. Then I moved to Malta where I was working for a Bank for seven years as Corporate Credit Portfolio Manager. Wanting to make the best out of my working experience abroad, I decided to move back to Greece and, currently, I work for a Governmental Organization as a Consultant to the Governor.

What does a typical day at work involve for you?

Identify complex issues and weaknesses, actively participating in the planning, implementation and management of strategic projects in order to optimize the effectiveness of the Organizations’ services. I also monitor the progress of prioritized projects and coordinate the cooperation and workflow among the Departments under the Governor’s areas of responsibility. Furthermore, I prepare presentations, dashboards and executive summaries to be submitted to Public Authorities. Given my educational background in Law, I am responsible for the overview of Procurement Contracts in cooperation with the Procurement Department and the external Legal Advisor. Last but not least, I liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

What’s been the highlight of your career journey so far?

Working and liaising with people from different countries and various sectors of business and educational background.

How would you say your Brunel experience has helped you to get where you are today?

Studying at Brunel University has offered me a place where I could develop my skills and improve my ability to go beyond what is expected. Living in a multinational environment has definitely prepared my way towards being part of a world that is challenging and has, also, many wonderful things to offer.

Why did you choose to study at Brunel and why would you recommend Brunel to others?

I chose Brunel University for its high reputation among the top universities in the UK. Moreover, its proximity to London and the amazing area of Uxbridge. I had been to Brunel many times before starting my studies there, since my sister had also studied at Brunel and I was sure that this was a place I would love to study and live as well.

What is your best memory of studying here?

The multinational environment and the opportunity to connect with other students from so many different countries around the world. Moreover, living for the first time away from home on my own, which helped me understand that I can get out of my comfort zone. In addition, the friends I met there!

If you could give one piece of advice to current Brunel students, what would that be?

Enjoy this amazing experience and everything it has to offer to the maximum!
