The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government recently published an Independent report, “ The Rycroft Review: Report of the independent review into countering foreign financial influence and interference in UK politics”.
This report was produced by Philip Rycroft at the request of the Secretary of State to conduct a review of foreign financial influence and interference in UK politics. Professor Justin Fisher, Director of Brunel Public Policy and Professor of Political Science, Brunel University of London, was interviewed during the course of this review and named in the report as one of the academics and experts consulted.
The final report included a recommendation for an annual cap on political donations from British voters living abroad, a topic on which Professor Fisher has published extensively in recent years, and summarised in a Policy Brief.
