Working together with – the Environment Agency, HR Wallingford, Jacobs, CIWEM, VolkerStevin and ICE Blue - Brunel University London has created and progressed with the Centre for Flood Risk and Resilience which aims to generate skills and knowledge in key stakeholders of flood risk and resilience, and thereby support the UK Government's Industrial Strategy.

The Environment Agency is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs.

Established in 1996 to protect and improve the environment, the Environment Agency is responsible within England for regulating major industry and waste, treatment of contaminated land, water quality and resources, fisheries, inland river, estuary and harbour navigations, conservation and ecology. The Environment Agency is also responsible for managing the risk of flooding from main rivers, reservoirs, estuaries and the sea.
