Biography

Second Lieutenant Albert Bruce Cosgrove was the son of John and Mary Elizabeth Cosgrove, of Old Elvet, Durham. He attended Borough Road College for 2 years before enlisting into Northumberland Fusiliers. Cosgrove was 24 when he died from wounds sustained following an incident with a grenade the day before the Battle of the Somme.
