Biography

Sergeant Observer Allan Arthur Cecil Shaddick graduated from Shoreditch College in 1941 and joined the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve shortly after. On the 28th of August, 1941 Obs. Sgt Shaddick and his crew of 2 left RAF Watton in Norfolk for a raid on cargo ships docked at Rotterdam, Holland. Their Blenheim IV was shot down by Me109 from VI/JG53. The aircraft crashed at Rozenburg (16 km WSW of Rotterdam). Everyone on board was killed. Sgt Obs. Shaddick is buried at Hook of Holland General Cemetery. He was 21.
